EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY:

Computer Savvy, Inc. has an educational philosophy that provides each student with an opportunity to actively learn and demonstrate competencies needed in today’s high performance workplace. Opportunities will be made available for each student to reach their maximum learning potential.

 

METHODS OF EVALUATION:

Computer Savvy, Inc. is committed to providing training that will aid in the development of critical and technical skills. Each student will be required to complete assessments that will demonstrate knowledge and skills through projects that simulate real work working situations. Projects will emphasize the practical application of knowledge. Grading levels for tests and assessments are:

100 - 90%: Indicates an excellent to good performance, including a consistent mastery of the facts and concepts, and a thorough understanding of course content.

89 - 80%: Indicates an above average overall performance, which includes an above average mastery of course content.

79 - 70%: Indicates an average overall performance, which includes an average mastery of course content.

69 - 60%: Indicates marginal performance, with a poor mastery of course content.

59 - 0%: Unsatisfactory.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Regular class attendance is necessary in order to receive the maximum benefit from the course. Daily attendance is vital to develop professional work habits of responsibility and self-direction which are highly valued by today’s employers. When a student’s accumulative absences are equivalent to 3+ days of instructional time, the student will receive written warning as follows:

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

  • Attend all classes and be on time for all classes.
  • Utilize the Lab Time for homework and assistance in understanding a concept.
  • Read assigned chapters before coming to class.
  • Complete assigned exercises neatly and professionally. When an assignment is complete, proofread it carefully before turning it in. Place initials on printed materials.
  • Complete the Procedures Check for each chapter.
  • Ask for help if concepts are not understood.
  • Schedule tutoring times for 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Students may leave the classroom during exercises, for breaks, and for lunch.

 

COURSE SCHEDULE

Class starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs to 3:00 p.m.

Breaks are 10:30 and 2:30. Lunch is 12:00 to 1:00

Lab time is from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (Independent Lab) and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Instructor Available).

Additional Instructor Availability:  8:30-9:00 a.m., M-F By appointment only.
